Oh my goodness, I'm so excited to post this I can't wait until it's done.
The other day I ordered a PDF to make a mural of Dr. Martin Luther King with the girls. The talented art teacher Kathy Barbro of Art Projects for Kids created this paint-by-number style project and sells the PDF for $5.
Here's how it looked after we printed it off the computer and trimmed the edges.
We started painting it tonight--Bo and Me. At age 2, Magpie proved a little too young for this one.
So here's Bo, age 4, hard at work.
Kathy recommends using oil pastels, but we're just using kid-friendly, washable tempera paint. I'm working on the more complicated facial pieces of the mural. Bo's pieces are a bit more swirly than mine, but I think she's doing a great job. Here's how it looks so far:
Can you believe that? As we were doing the first pages, I thought, "This isn't going to look good." But after we put them all together on the table there, I'm quite impressed. Kathy deserves the credit--both for creating a beautiful art project and for making it possible for even a 4 year old to participate in it.
Bo keeps calling the guy in the picture "the King Doctor."
