Oh, my friends. I just wanted to drop in and say I haven't forgotten you and hope you haven't forgotten me. I will update this soon with more info about the teaching, some classroom ideas I bet you'd love to use at home ... and more crafty goodness (the holidays are approaching, after all!).
But if this is any indication, on Friday I was so busy the only thing I ate all day was a bowl of cereal and a baggie of grapes. Megan not eating? That's a sign of some serious overwhelminghoodness.
We did manage to put together a 3rd birthday party for little miss Magpie, though, and so I'm here to share some pictures.
The theme: horses. Oh, my. I love this theme. What is better than being in love with horses when you're a little girl. Cotton candy dipped in sprinkles, maybe. But still. Horses rule.
I'll let these photos tell the story, and then you can hop over to my kids' parties site for all the horse-party details.
Craft activity/party favor: blank stick horses made from poster board and PVC pipes. The kids (OK, the girls, anyway) decorated the horse heads with markers, googly eyes, stickers, yarn, etc. I got the idea from my friend Darby who made something similar for his horse-loving daughter.
Invitations, stitched around the edges to mimic a saddle.
Magpie helping make decorations.
Oh, and this guy. Buttercup. Yes, we rented a pony. No, my name is not Buffy. Are we ridiculous? I couldn't resist.
