It doesn't exactly scream "stars and stripes," but here's our take on a Fourth of July dress for Bo. It's a little big, so I'll be taking it in a bit later this weekend.
The fabric is "wall flower" from Amy Butler's Lotus line. It's amazing what a difference good fabric makes. If you saw the photo on the front of the sewing pattern (McCalls 5370), you'd never recognize it as the same dress.
Bo seems to like it, probably because it has a much higher twirl factor than our last creation.
Beautiful dress! And yes, great fabric makes a huge difference!

Thanks, thanks. I'm really happy with how it turned out, but seriously--it's all about the great fabric. It looks better now that I cinched it up a bit, too. I'll post a photo of Bo wearing it soon. She wore it on a walk through the neighborhood this morning, and I kicked myself for not having the camera.
I used the same fabric to make a romper for Magpie last night. I'm not quite done, but I'll put some pictures up of that one soon, too.
